All the advice a father could need!
This week on dorsetdad.co.uk the electric dims in our house, a bottom explodes, and guess what we found among the vegetables! Curious?
All the advice a father could need!
Consider me so relaxed I am positively horizontal, after a fantastic lie-in. The kids were already downstairs beating the furniture, however I was upstairs in a warm and cosy bed, with pillows like marshmallows. To top it off my loving wife had fetched a freshly filtered coffee.
You can tell it’s nearly the end of term as even my little girl, who is usually up at six am, is now sleeping in. It was nearly 7.30am before signs of life were heard from various bedrooms. Captain Chaos came down like an early cave man beating his chest for food.
Oh diary, how can preparing two kids for school be so tough? I got the lunch-boxes ready and waved my wife goodbye, along with all hope. As my wife drove away I asked Captain Chaos where his shoes were? His answer was “Sorry no idea”
It was Friday night in Dorset and all was calm, until loud music was heard thumping outside as we put the kids to bed. Typical! Friday night and the youth with their ‘souped-up’ cars were now driving round our estate as I put my kids to bed. As I swung open the curtains, ready to […]
Sundays. They really should be the best day of the week, but somehow or another my kids manage to ensure they go down hill faster than a roller-coaster. Take today for example, I woke to my wife bringing me a hot freshly filtered coffee smelling of revival. Brownie points to my smooth wife. Happiness quickly […]
October Half Term Sunday 28th October Oh Diary, did I get myself into trouble this morning, and all before breakfast! Captain Chaos asked for his favourite breakfast, which involves copious amounts of chocolate spread. Now amazing as it is, I don’t personally like chocolate, especially chocolate spread. I served the chocolate spread, and it must […]
October Half Term Friday 26th October I was awoken this morning to a slime fight of all things, although I could not complain, as it was past eight am, so apart from slime on the hotel walls, it was a successful alarm clock. We were heading into a very big town today with my mum, […]
October Half Term Thursday 25th October We’re off to see my family who live three hours away today, and I thought I was the only excited one. Clearly not though, as Captain Chaos woke up at 6am. Now this is unusual because he normally sleeps until either an earthquake causes a disturbance, or school starts. […]
October Half Term Wednesday 24th October Today was unusual diary, I had to be up early and pick up my in-laws dog and bring him home, which usually takes around ten minutes. The dog in question is an English Springer Spaniel, but as we got to the top of our town, he quickly realised he […]
October Half Term Monday 22nd October I woke up super early today as I’m at the doctors, and no sooner had I arrived downstairs, than my little girl popped down and placed her order for the cafe I was about to run. Having served my little girl her hearts desire, I headed to the doctors, […]
October Half Term Saturday 20th of October Don’t you just hate it when you wake up at 6am on a Saturday, for no reason diary? I was thinking I was the only one up, until I heard my graceful ballerina downstairs, with what can only be described as running a cinema downstairs with sound at […]
Saturday morning and all was well, that was until my wife announced she was going out, and later coming back to collect Captain Chaos. Oh great, my wife was only going out a short time, meaning there was not enough time to go out, so we were trapped inside the house like a prison sentence. […]
If I let you inside my mind on a Friday afternoon, you would just see pictures of food passing by, in anticipation of a fantastic meal when I got home. I’m not sure why, but Friday evening meals always seem to be a bit more exiting, so the drive home was a little quicker than […]
Captain Chaos is almost six years old, and last night said goodnight to me, as I passed his bedroom to go to sleep. Now I feel really old, like some old person turning in for the night, because he cannot handle the modern pace of life. However victory was mine when I woke early, and […]
As I write this it’s the first day of the new school term, having spent six weeks of my family taunting me. You know the little things like “have a good day at work, just going to spend the next few hours in bed”, or maybe “Daddy why not phone your boss and tell them […]
